* October 28 - WMU @ Luisa Gante

* December 1 & 2- Christmas Parade

* December 24th- MFABC  Christmas Party

* November 26- 2:30pm Joint Thanksgiving service @ Word of Truth followed by Annual Meeting and election of officers and Board of Trustees. 

*November 11- Galacgac (Jeff and Helen) Celebration of LIfe -at Word of Truth.

* December 17- Pre-Christmas service at HCBC at 2:30pm. Voting for Board of Trustees.

IV. Reports:

1. Stewardship team to assist and support Jen Gonzaga in her absence so Financial Report can be provided during meetings.

2. Youth Ministry is looking into partnering with Wahiawa to have joint Youth Night at Wahiawa District Park.

3. WMU- Sent boxes and financial help to Pastor Roger and Pastor Manny Sazon.

4. Mission- Tess Gante received $100 for mission. Note: For tax purposes, send funds received for mission to MFABC for accounting.

5. Social Committee- Luisa Gante is thankful to everyone for being consistent at weekly potluck.

6. Small Groups- 2 guests (one from Philippines) and Shaner to be part of a small group.

7. Children's Ministry- Practicing VBS songs.

V. Other Business

# Required Formal training and sexual abuse courses for all volunteers. The body approved to budget for these online courses in 2024.

# Follow-up on Online giving. Stewardship team to look into it.

# Payment to be made to Lifestyle Mission House during Philippine mission 2023.

VI. New Business

1.The body approved to cooperate and affiliate with the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention and Oahu Baptist Network.

3. The body approved to admit new members namely: Bathie Fong, Page Ayalde, Jamby Ayalde. Note: Rose Ponce will make a decision to join .

4. The body approved to affirm the membership covenant presented last September 24 at the 25th Anniversary.

5. The body approved to join Wahiawa BC for October outreach, MBC for Thanksgiving service and Christmas celebration.

6. The body approved to participate in Wahiawa and Mililani Christmas Parade and that a budget of no more than $400 will be appropriated. Marion Hall volunteered to shoulder the cost of 1 trailer and Gina Maban to do decoration.

7. The body approved to purchase a Hearing assistance equipment for Auditory challenged individuals.

8. Wahiawa will do Give Away drive on November 17th. Donated items that are in mint condition will be given to bless the community.

9. Stewardship team to meet and suggest that MFABC to start giving to OBN.

As a Baptist, I am committed to congregational church government. Unfortunately, some churches practice an unhealthy form of church government which does more harm than good. In these cases, acrimonious business meetings are usually a clear sign of a church that has an unhealthy inward focus and is in decline, and such hostile meetings are counterproductive to fulfilling the Great Commission. Thom Rainer comments on this problem: “Church business meetings become arguments over preferences and desires.”[1] While business meetings can be a great cause for anxiety, they need not be.
