Council Meeting 7/13/21

 1. Sunday service- Guests are attending more regularly. Sunday school should start and end on time. Jenn G suggested that worship music is a good cue to start the service.

2. There is a need for back up teachers for children's Sunday school.Tess Gante volunteered to train new sets of teachers namely Gina Mahan, Louder Barraca, Carnation Inong, Donna Roldan.

3. Deacons to assist the Pastor during altar invitation. 

4. Temperature check is still needed before entering lanai for Sunday school or the chapel.

5. Review of 5 star treatment. For now, Pastor, Deacon and person who invited the guest/s will do the follow up. 

6. Ushers to log in guest name and info through messenger using Google docs ( Connection Card).Hard copies of the guest card to be given to church clerk (Jo) who will send the link through text.

7. MFABC equipment upstairs of the church MBC has to emptied out. Trustees i.e. Randy to make an inventory.

8.  Business meetings every 3 months. Next is August 1st and November.

9. Danny proposed that Bibles is to be purchased for guests who came to church after visitation.

10. Anniversary Team will comprise of 2 youth,  2 Men, 2 women. 

11. Students Randy, Jean and Danny. Can the church sponsor their continuing Christian education. 

12. Althea is training under Matthew to take over the sound system. 

13.. Men Fellowship at NBC August 14.

14. Reminder: Keep the facilities clean, rubbish disposed,  things placed on the right spot.

As a Baptist, I am committed to congregational church government. Unfortunately, some churches practice an unhealthy form of church government which does more harm than good. In these cases, acrimonious business meetings are usually a clear sign of a church that has an unhealthy inward focus and is in decline, and such hostile meetings are counterproductive to fulfilling the Great Commission. Thom Rainer comments on this problem: “Church business meetings become arguments over preferences and desires.”[1] While business meetings can be a great cause for anxiety, they need not be.
