Business Meeting Minutes - October 20, 2024

Attendees: Sally Flores, Rossana Mindo, Luisa and Jun Gante, Page and Abby Ayalde, Jay and Joanne Nocasa, Elda Duro, Eva Murallos, Luz and Marlon Gante, Ben and Lita Carino, Donna Roldan, Gina Maban, Lourdes Barraca, Carnacion Inong, Vic and Tess Gante, Jennifer Gonzaga, Charles Kim, Bong, Tina, Miko and Micah Abagon, Malou, 

Reached Quorum: 27 members.

1. Prayer: Marlon Gante (Moderator)

2. Reading of Minutes from October 22,2023: Jo Beltran.

3. Financial Statement Report ( Elda Duro/ Jamby Ayalde) Click here for the Jan-Sept, 2024 Profit and Loss Statement

Income from January- Sept. 30, 2024: $ 66,509.32

                                               Expenses: $ 47,627.77

                                            Net income: $18,881.82

Jan 2024 starting balance: $ 158, 089.01

Sept 2024 Statement Ending balance: $168,043.49

4. Pastor Bong recommended that church will give $200 for OBN and will be included in annual budget. The church approved.

5. NEW BUSINESS

a) Election of messengers: 10 representatives for OBN (Will vote for :Constitution and By-laws, OBN Budget 110,000, Calendar of Events, Youth Camp and S.H.E/ Baptist Men) Elected representatives: Sally Flores, Marlon Gante, Rossana Mindo, Abby Ayalde, Joanne Nocasa , Donna Roldan, Carnation Inong, Page Ayalde, Luisa Gante, Gina Maban and Jen Gonzaga. The body approved the nominations.

b) There is a need for  a OBN council member from MFABC to serve for 3 years.

3. REPORTS:

a) Pastor Report

      1.    Pastor Bong is concerned about the members of the church that are not attending anymore. Nelson to be a part of a new men small group. We want to reach out to young adults who are not connected to our weekly fellowship. We need to keep track of attendance. 

          Oct 31- Wahiawa Baptist Church

         Joint Thanksgiving - Marlon, Rossana and Luisa to coordinate with Pastor.

          Thanksgiving Day at Abagons for singles.

          December - Christmas Parade/ Christmas Party

          February 15- Mud dash

          Mission 2025- Japan to Philippines ( Antique, Negros, Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Zamboanga)

           Mission team: Jay Nocasa, Tess Gante, Rossana Mindo, Donna Roldan, Marlon Gante

      2.  Pastor  Bong made a suggestion about bringing in Page Ayalde as part of the personnel. Personnel team to lead discussion on it.

b) Rossana Mindo- Thanked everyone for the Pastor Appreciation and Church Anniversary. $100 was given to Malangas pastor. Wants to encourage mission to Ati tribe. SHE meeting will be held in Wahiawa.

c) Donna and Joanne to start fund raising for 2025 mission i.e. garage sale, gourmet tuyo.

d) Men- Pastor Page thanking the men and the wives for the men's fellowship. Will expand to include Micah. Have plans to meet at Mark's place, billiard and family camp at Abagon's. 

e) Praise Team- proposing wireless equipment to ease set up every Sunday. The team is open for anyone who wants to join Praise and worship.

f). Small group- New curriculum from Dr. Woods for small group.

g) Hospitality and Social- Thanked everybody for donating money for the anniversary and for the weekly potluck.

The success of a business meeting is determined by how prepared one is for the meeting.  Most pastors and organizations desire to have a smooth transition between items discussed or voted on.  Having Robert’s Rules of Order is nice to have on hand but it is not necessary to conduct a successful business meeting.   Listed below is an outline that most churches and organizations use for their business meetings.  It is a simple outline that can be used with any type of meeting, big or small.  It is good to also prepare an agenda outline for all members.
